What is Carter Training and Development Services?
Carter Training and Development Services helps individuals explore their employment goals and identify the support they need to move forward. We begin by getting to know you, your experience, and the challenges you face in finding or maintaining employment.
Can you help me if I have been applying for jobs but haven’t been hired?
Contact us to schedule an initial meeting. We will discuss your job search, the positions you are interested in, and any challenges you have experienced with applications or interviews. This conversation helps us determine how we may be able to assist you.
How do I get started?
Contact us to schedule an initial meeting. Let us know your availability and whether you prefer to meet by phone, virtually, or in person. If a TWC Vocational Rehabilitation counselor or another organization referred you, please mention that when you reach out.
What happens during the first meeting?
The first meeting is an opportunity for us to learn about you and for you to learn about our services. We will discuss your employment interests, work experience, goals, and support needs. You can ask questions and decide whether Carter Training and Development Services is a good fit for you.
Can we meet by phone, virtually, or in person?
We offer initial meetings by phone, virtually, or in person. When scheduling, let us know which option works best for you and your availability.
My TWC counselor referred me. What should I do next?
Contact us to schedule an initial meeting to discuss your employment goals and learn about our services. After we meet, if you choose Carter Training and Development Services as your provider, contact your TWC counselor to let them know. TWC will then schedule a meeting with you, your counselor, and our team to discuss next steps.
Do I need to send my résumé before we meet?
You do not need to send a résumé to request an initial meeting. We will begin with a conversation and let you know what information or documents may be helpful as we move forward.
What if I am not currently connected with TWC Vocational Rehabilitation?
You can contact us to discuss your situation. If you are interested in exploring TWC Vocational Rehabilitation services, we can share information about connecting with TWC through Start My VR. TWC determines eligibility for its services.
Will there be a cost for services?
Before services begin, we will clarify any applicable costs and funding arrangements. If you are receiving services through TWC, the services and required authorization will need to be confirmed with your counselor.
Can a family member or support person join my meeting?
Let us know if you would like a family member or another support person to participate. We can discuss their involvement with your permission while keeping your goals and preferences at the center of the conversation.
Do you guarantee that I will get a job?
We cannot guarantee a job offer, as hiring decisions are made by employers. We will discuss your employment goals and the support we may be able to provide as you work toward finding employment.
